What Is a Sentence?
Now that you have been learning to write words, the next step is learning how to put those words together to make sentences.
So, what makes a sentence?
Do sentences have to be long?

Bare bones means the absolute minimum needed for something.
You're going to learn how to write the shortest sentence possible!
Every Sentence Needs 4 Things
1. A Capital Letter
Every sentence must begin with a capital letter.
2. Punctuation
Every sentence must end with punctuation.
For now, we'll use a period (.). A period tells us we've come to the end—kind of like a STOP sign.
3. A WHO
Who are we talking about?
4. A WHAT
What is that person, animal, or thing doing?
That's all we need to make a sentence!
Dogs bark.
Create some sentences that are not complete and let your child tell you what is missing
cats sleep.

Does it have punctuation? yes
What is the who? cats
What are the cats doing? sleeping
Is this a complete sentence? No
