Welcome to Kindergarten-Overview
Kindergarten is the year, your child will build the foundation for becoming a successful reader and writer. Every child learns at a different pace, so don't worry if some skills take a little longer to master. The goal is steady progress, confidence, and a love of learning.
Kindergarten Learning Goals
These are the things your child should know by the end of Kindergarten
Recognize and write his or her own name.
2. Identify the names of all uppercase and lowercase letters.
3. Learn the sound each letter makes.
4. Hear and identify the beginning and ending sounds in words.
5. Write letters correctly.
6. Put sounds together to begin to read and write simple words.
7. Listen to stories, talk about what was read, and begin developing comprehension skills.

Where Do I Begin?
The best way to help your child become a successful reader is to build one skill at a time. You might start with learning to recognize the letters of the alphabet that are in their name. You can then move to learning all the other letters and sound of the alphabet. Each lesson builds on the one before it.

A short daily drill is the key to success. Keep it fun, start together, and eventually let your child do it independently.

Nothing complicated — consistency wins.
Building an abc train is a fun way to practice the names and the order of them. Once build it can become your drill.
