Phonics Charts – Packet #2 adds five new practice charts to your child’s growing collection. Each chart gives parents simple teaching clues and memorable language to use during everyday reading practice.
This packet includes:
Beginning/Simple Red Words — Introduces some of the first high-frequency words children need to recognize during reading practice.
Beginning Homonyms — Helps children recognize words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.
AR Words — Introduces the ar pattern and the special sound it makes in words such as car, star, and park.
OE & OA Words — Helps children recognize the long O sound in common oe and oa words.
KN Words — Helps children recognize that in kn words, the k is quiet while the n does the talking.
You don't need to memorize a list of phonics rules. Each chart includes its own teaching clues and reminders, giving you the language to use while practicing with your child.
The charts within this packet can be introduced in any order but it is best to spread them out over several days in between each new chart.
